About the Monkey Valley Race

The Monkey Valley Race was inspired by Reuben Menk, age 12, after his cousin Coho Menk died suddenly from an epileptic seizure on May 19, 2016. Reuben loves to run, especially if it’s for a good cause.

Last year, more than 50 walkers and runners showed up on a cool, rainy day to race. The event raised at least $2,500 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota! The race is on again this year, though we’ll skip right to the indoor picnic and party if the weather is wet and cold.

If you’d like to let people in your community know about the race, please feel free to use the Monkey Valley Race flyer (click here) to do so.
